This genotype is also at higher risk for CFRD.
CFRD Fact #8

Interesting tidbits about CFRD:
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is rare. (I would love some more info on this).
Pancreatic insufficiency associated with CFRD.
A1c levels may underestimate abnormal glucose metabolism. (would love more info on this too). So far I have only found that there is an increased red cell turnover, causing a “diluted” A1c level.
The A1c level can show the average blood glucose levels over the past 2-3 months. A decent indicator of how well of control the diabetic has over their blood sugar levels.

I will have an out of pocket expense of $6,700 this year to purchase an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor, that is after insurance covers their portion. I really need help with these expenses.
My goal is to raise $6,700, currently I am at $2,285.
